Where do you teach?

Piano, Acting and Voice Lessons are held either in Lincolnshire, IL and online via zoom.

Online: The advantage of online lessons is that you can request to have lessons recorded to practice along with each week.

What is a first Voice lesson like?

Your teacher will listen to you sing, either through a song your bring or vocalizes. They will assess your strengths and devise a plan to go forward based on your immediate and long term goals.

What are follow up Voice lessons like?

Each lesson will include technique exercises based on your goals and vocal needs. We will then apply those exercises to your songs. We may also work on artistry, acting your song, and English or foreign language diction. We will always tailor our time together so that we work towards your specific goals.

What are lessons like for young children?

Lessons for young children include fun warmups that also have very specific goals for vocal development. We learn about good posture, breathing for singing, storytelling through song, and of course, we sing songs! I also typically assign a musical theory workbook for homework each week to help with musical growth (learning notes, rhythms, how to sight read music, dynamic markings)

What opportunities will I have to perform?

All semester based performers at Fine Arts Voice have the opportunity to participate in Youth or Adult srecitals. Teachers may also suggest competitions or other programs that are appropriate for your level of singing. Students 18 and younger enrolled in each semester have the opportunity to attend three performance experience classes or workshops per semester at no additional cost in addition to weekly lessons.

What ages do you teach?

We work with the youngest of performers through our Smart Start Program and continue all the way through adults of any age. Students range in experience from complete beginners of all ages, to professional performers (both children and adults).

How Long are lessons?

Lesson lengths are tailored to the needs of each student.

  • 30 minutes: Perfect for younger students ages 7-10, providing an engaging and focused experience

  • 45 minutes: Ideal for teens and younger students who are working on auditions, offering more time to develop skills

  • 60 minutes: Reccommended for adults and professional performers seeking an in-depth and comprehensive lesson.

Our goal is to ensure each student has the time they need to grow and succeed in their journey.

CAN I TAKE A SINGLE LESSON BEFORE COMMITING TO THE SEMESTER?

Absolutely! Taking a single lesson is a great way to jump right in to a full lesson to experience our teaching style and see if our program is the right fit for you. Here’s how it works:

  1. Confirm availability: Contact us to confirm availability of the teacher you’re interested in.

  2. Register for a Single Lesson: Single lessons are paid sessions and are charged at the teacher’s standard rate. Rates vary depending on the length of the session.
